Change of Address, Mailboxes, Utilities & Property Tax.

Once you have your completion date and your new address, it's recommended that you notify or update any organization that may require this new detail to ensure continuous service. For example:

MAILBOXES

You will be provided with a mailbox key at the time of key pick up. Should you need to acquire an additional key, you can take your original key to be copied at any hardware store or locksmith. Should you need to replace lost or stolen key(s), you can do so on the Canada Post website.

UTILITIES & PROPERTY TAX

Information on your property taxes, including property tax estimation, how to pay your property tax, and understanding your property tax notices, can be found at burnaby.ca/ services-and-payments/property-taxes.

City of Burnaby utility fees are in place to cover the cost of delivering essential utility services, such as residential water and sewer, water consumption, etc. Fees will vary from property to property. Once you have your completion date, we recommend that you contact your service providers to move your existing services or set up new services. Most importantly, you must assume responsibility for your BC Hydro services from the time of completion to ensure there is no disruption of service. You can move your BC Hydro services or set up a new account if needed through the BC Hydro website.
